When you hire a motorhome, the layout matters just as much as the destination. The best layout for you depends on who is travelling, how you like to sleep, whether you want separate areas for adults and children, and how important it is to have a comfortable space to relax indoors.

At Forth Valley Motorhomes we have four layout options in our fleet:

Auto Roller 746 (two vehicles Poppy and Jess)
Auto Roller 747 (one vehicle Meg)
Auto Roller 707 (one vehicle Connie)
Roller Team Zefiro 675 (one vehicle Angus)

All of our vehicles are best suited to a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children (6 people total). Below is a clear guide to each layout and who it tends to suit best.

Jess and Poppy’s Layout:

Rear Lounge With a Huge Double Bed, Plus Two More Beds

The Auto Roller 746 is ideal for travellers who want a proper lounge space that feels separate from the rest of the motorhome. The standout feature is the large rear living area, which is excellent for relaxing in the evenings, spreading out on rainy days, or giving the kids space to play.

Sleeping setup
Large rear living area converts into a huge double bed
Dining area converts into a small double bed
Overcab bed is approximately king-size

Who this layout suits best
Families with children who like an early bedtime for kids and a lounge space for adults
Mixed groups who want multiple distinct sleeping areas
Travellers who expect to spend time inside the motorhome (weather, longer trips, evenings in)

Why people choose the 746

The 746 gives you three separate sleeping zones, plus a genuinely spacious lounge. It works especially well when you have children or two smaller sleepers who can use the dinette bed, while adults take the overcab bed and/or the large rear bed.

Meg’s Layout:

Rear Lounge Layout With a Drop-Down Bed Instead of Overcab

The Auto Roller 747 is very similar in style and feel to the 746, with the key difference being the bed arrangement at the front. Instead of an overcab bed, the 747 has a double drop-down bed above the dining area.

Sleeping setup

Large rear living area converts into a huge double bed

Dining area converts into a small double bed

Double drop-down bed above the dining area (no overcab bed)

Who this layout suits best

Families who love the rear lounge layout but prefer the front bed to be a drop-down

Travellers who want a cleaner, more open cab area (no overcab section)

Groups who want easy access to a main double bed without climbing into an overcab bed

Why people choose the 747

The 747 gives you the same “big rear lounge” experience as the 746, but some travellers prefer the drop-down bed style for ease of access, especially for adults. It still provides three sleeping areas and is excellent for family touring.

Connie’s Layout:

Rear Bunks, Central Lounge Converts to Double, Plus Drop-Down Double

The Auto Roller 707 is a great option for families because the bunk beds create a natural “kids’ bedroom” at the back. It also works well for groups who want fixed sleeping spaces for some travellers without converting everything at night.

Sleeping setup
Two bunks at the back
Large central living area converts into a double bed
Double drop-down bed above the lounge

Who this layout suits best
Families with children who will love having bunks
Parents who want the kids sleeping separately and securely
Groups of up to four adults who don’t mind converting the lounge at night

Why people choose the 707

The bunks make this layout feel organised and family-friendly. It’s easy to settle children into bed at the back while the rest of the group still has use of the main living space. It’s also a good option if you want a layout that naturally divides sleeping zones.

Angus’ Layout:

Huge Rear Bunks, Dinette Bed, and a Large Overcab Bed

The Zefiro 675 is built around big bunks at the back, making it a favourite for families with children or teens who need proper sleeping space. The overcab bed is also large, giving adults a comfortable main bed without needing to convert the lounge first.

Sleeping setup
Huge bunks at the back
Dining area converts into a small double bed
Huge overcab bed

Who this layout suits best
Families who want generous bunk beds (especially for older children)
Travellers who like a strong “sleeping capacity” layout with clear bed zones
Groups using the bunks for children and the dinette for occasional extra sleeping

Why people choose the 675

This layout is excellent when bunk size matters. The bunks are large enough to feel comfortable rather than cramped, and the big overcab bed is a strong selling point for adults who want a proper bed without nightly set-up.
